United Studios of Self Defense Belmont

United Studios of Self Defense Belmont offers group lessons, Specialized Training Sessions, and 1, 2, and 3 person sessions in Shaolin Kenpo, which is a mixture of Karate, Kung Fu, and Ju Jitsu. Training activities include multi-opponent sparring and defensive maneuvers, and all programs include both group lessons and Specialized Training Sessions. The program offers both online and in-person classes and follows a core philosophy of non-violence, with core values of Effort, Etiquette, Character, Sincerity, and Self Control.

United Studios of Self Defense Belmont has been described as a pillar of the Belmont community for 30 years and notes 27 years of providing martial arts instruction. Every USSD Instructor was first an accomplished USSD student and is trained from white belt within the USSD self-defense system. All instructors participate in weekly training sessions with a Master Instructor, and USSD Chief Instructors and Masters from across the country gather each month at the United Studios National HQ in Southern California to train and develop new skills and methods of teaching. The program states that self defense is not just about learning a new move or punch, but about training both techniques and mindset. United Studios of Self Defense Belmont has been recognized as “Best Karate School” 5 years in a row by the Belmont Award Program, which honors achievements and accomplishments of local businesses in the Belmont area.
