Camp Funderblast was started by long-time camp maestro Veronica Rae Cowen. Its stated mission is “Supporting Kids In Being Their Best!!!” Camp Funderblast, for 4–12 year olds, is described as a fun, local day camp that helps kids thrive, with an emphasis on keeping the camp small, local, and loving, and on a vision where each child feels safe, loved, and seen. The program notes that part of what makes Camp Funderblast unique is the loving, positive intention behind it, and it expresses excitement and gratitude about having five locations.

At the Scott Valley location, families can add professional tennis lessons through Tennis Camp, which is run by the Tennis Department of the club. At either Homestead or Scott Valley, campers can take swim lessons in the afternoon and are escorted to and from swim lessons by camp staff. The program also offers Specialty Camps for older kids that focus on fishing, sports, performing arts, and nature.

Camp Funderblast offers After School Camp Mondays through Thursdays in Mill Valley, with registration by the month. It also offers School Holiday Camps during Thanksgiving Week, Winter Break, Ski Week, and Spring Break in Mill Valley and Fairfax. The program runs Kids Night Out events and has been bringing Camp Funderblast activities to birthday parties in person and on Zoom.

Camp Funderblast’s founder, Veronica Rae Cowen, helped start the non-profit InspirationCampaign.org in 2012. Families can visit www.InspirationCampaign.org to learn more about gifting positivity to the world and about the non-profit Veronica helped start in 2012.
