Palm Canyon Theatre opened its doors in September 1997. The organization is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to the education of live stage productions and the enrichment of the greater Palm Springs community and its visitors. The theatre is the Valley's longest running theatre company and operates in the historic Frances S. Stevens School building. Palm Canyon Theatre is a family-founded and family-run organization spanning three generations, including Dr. William “Bill” Layne, Sylvia Layne, J.W. Layne, Se Layne, Wyatt, and Ava.
