This class will explore brush strokes, color, composition, and tone to illustrate striking landscapes that capture the detail and atmosphere of the natural world.

Watercolor is one of the most conducive mediums for depicting nature in its purest form. We explore light and texture to capture the gorgeousness of nature's bounty in Sonoma County and beyond.

This class is beginner-friendly, but a basic knowledge of watercolor (brush types, paint consistency, controlling water) is helpful. This can be accomplished by watching beginner tutorial videos to get you familiar with watercolor tools & basic home practice. Tara can share 2-4 hours of VIDEO practice before class starts if desired.

*Supplies: you will need to bring your own watercolor paper, preferably 140lb cold press, pad or notebook. Tara has these available for $10.

Brushes & paint are available at the studio for use during class. Ideally, it would be best to have a simple paint palette & a few brushes for home practice during this 5-week course. A sample supply list will be provided after registration.
