NextGen Tech Learning was founded in January 2014 and has been offering a wide range of computer programming and technology courses since early 2014. The program states a mission to provide a creative platform for every child going into the next generation to learn coding and technology, to teach students computer science, to show them the endless possibilities computer science can open up for them, and to give them a new direction of creativity and productivity, with the statement “OurMission Raising The Bar in Tech Education.” NextGen Tech Learning is fully WASC accredited and offers what it describes as the largest selection of computer programming and technology courses, including Junior Tech Courses, Senior Tech Courses, and College/Career Courses, with a professionally designed curriculum and custom curriculum designed for kids to make learning coding and technology enjoyable and highly creative. Courses are offered for kids and teens in 2nd to 12th grade, with a Research/Capstone Project to build a college portfolio, High School and Internship Prep Courses, and a free class/college counseling session available. The program notes that all materials used in class are copyright material of NextGen Tech Learning and may not be shared or reproduced without written permission, and that NextGen Tech Learning reserves the right to refuse service to anyone under any circumstances that they deem necessary.

The founder and president is Sharad Singhani, who founded NextGen Tech Learning in early 2014 and is married to his wife Preeti. Sharad worked in web, mobile, Java, Python, and databases technologies as an engineer/architect and then in various management and senior management positions at Bay Area tech companies, graduated from IIT Roorkee, started working on evolving technologies like Web, Java, C++, and RDBMS early in his career, and was one of the early adopters of the Java programming language while Java was still in the beta version. Preeti holds a computer science degree. Classes are taught by subject matter expert professional teachers, and the program states that it does not use high school or college students as teachers.

One parent from the Fremont community described the school as “such a blessing to the Fremont community.” Parent and student testimonials report experiences such as improved AP Computer Science grades, increased confidence in school computer science classes, successful transfer from a mechanical major to computer engineering, and appreciation for the quality and depth of the curriculum in both in-person and online classes. The program has been in operation from 2014 through at least 2026, as indicated by the copyright notice “Copyright © 2014 - 2026 NextGen Tech Learning.”
