About
Summer Academy Speech & Debate Camp offers activities in platform public speaking, interpretation (competitive acting), and debate. The camp is held at Lames Logan High School in rooms 408 and 412, providing a focused environment for participants to engage in these activities.
• Ages: 12–18 years old
• Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 1 week
• Price: $600 per week

The camp is led by Justin Kurup as Camp Director and Dr. Tommie Lindsey, Jr. as Director Emeritus. Dr. Lindsey is a MacArthur Genius Award Winner and serves as Vice President of the National Speech and Debate Association Board of Directors. Many staff members have coached State and National Champions or have won national titles themselves. Friends of Forensics, a nonprofit organization, offers limited financial assistance for New Haven Unified students.
