City of Bowie Ice Arena Programs include ice skating, Summer Camp, and special sessions such as Skate in the Shade. Families can also find a July calendar of activities, an August calendar of activities, and a Back to School September Learn-to-Skate class.
• Schedule: The City of Bowie Ice Arena is open for skating July through April each year, closes for maintenance during May and June while remaining available for dry-floor activities, and registration for the Back to School September Learn-to-Skate class starts August 21.
• Price: Discounts are available for City of Bowie residents, as well as for groups and families, and Skate in the Shade offers free admission with skate rental costing $3.
The City of Bowie Ice Arena opened in 1971, celebrated 50 years of skating during the 2021–22 season, and the 2026–27 skating season marks its 55th season of skating. It is a year-round single sheet ice skating facility, with a new single sheet facility scheduled to be completed in Spring of 2027. The arena is home to the Bowie Figure Skating Club, Bowie Hockey Club, Bowie High School Ice Dogs, and the Bowie ISI Figure Skating Team.
