Youth & Young Adult Programs offers group activities and sensory experiences for participants. The program also includes family support as part of its services.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Bridge the Gap, Inc. became a non-profit organization in 2007, and by 2015 it had found its permanent home in Shawano, Wisconsin. In 2020, a second center was opened in Green Bay. Leadership was passed to Lesley LaLuzerne. The mission of Bridge the Gap, Inc. is to create a community where individuals with autism and all special abilities are understood, included, and empowered. Bridge the Gap proudly serves clients from 8 counties and collaborates with 6 school districts throughout northeastern Wisconsin. The organization describes its approach as rooted in compassion, driven by experience, and guided by empowerment, with an open-minded, heart-centered approach that creates meaningful connections that inspire growth, confidence, and community. The Youth & Young Adult Programs are described as engaging programs for elementary through young adult participants that foster connection, build confidence, and strengthen life and social skills, in a safe, non-judgmental space that supports personal growth, independence, and connection from childhood through adulthood, with a focus on helping each person uncover their strengths, explore their interests, and grow toward their fullest level of independence in all areas of life.
