Heartland Farm Sanctuary's mission is to inspire compassion for animals, the earth and each other by offering a safe, welcoming space where people and farm animals come together to experience growth, healing and connection. Its camps, field trips and clubs give learners of all ages the opportunity to gain insight into meeting animals' needs for safety, nourishment and relationships with others. Heartland offers experiential therapy programs that address the individual needs of participants and inspire compassion for animals, the earth and each other. The organization provides high-quality, specialized care, hope and healing for farm animals who have suffered abuse or neglect and have nowhere else to go.

Heartland Farm Sanctuary serves as a resource for shelters and county agencies around Wisconsin that request assistance with farm animal abandonment and cruelty cases. Heartland has been recognized as one of the nation’s premier farm animal sanctuaries.
