Riding On Insulin Ski & Snowboard Camps

Riding On Insulin Ski & Snowboard Camps offers 1-day ski and snowboard camps for ages 7-17. The program also welcomes siblings and close friends and accepts all ability and experience levels. First-timer groups are led by PSIA-AASI Level 1 or higher certified instructors.

• General schedule: Virtual orientations are 45 minutes. On camp day, groups of 4-7 campers are led by T1D coaches and volunteers. A typical schedule includes check-in at 8:15 a.m., group photo at 9:00 a.m., parent roundtable at 10:00 a.m., lunch at 12:00 p.m., another group check at 12:45 p.m., and groups return at 3:30 p.m.; schedule varies based on location.

About the provider

Riding On Insulin is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2010. Its leadership team includes Sean Busby, Mollie Busby, Dustin Askim, Wendy Conway, Kevin Hoffman, and Carla Cox. The program says it empowers, activates, and connects the global diabetes community through shared experience and action sports, with a mission to instill resilience in those facing chronic diseases. It teaches kids and teens living with Type 1 diabetes and their siblings, and its camps are made possible through partners, donors, and peer-to-peer fundraising by campers and coaches.
