Mountain Brook Gymnastics offers gymnastics through Preschool & Rec Classes, a Compulsory Competitive Team program, and Friday night events. The program also hosts birthday parties, summer and school break special events, and participates in state, regional, and national gymnastics competitions.
• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Two 9-week spring sessions, with some 8-week classes noted as shorter in the class name; class options Monday–Thursday 8:30 am–8:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am–6:15 pm, Saturday 8:00 am–12:00 pm, and Sunday by appointment
• Price: Yearly registration fee for the Aug 25–Aug 26 gym year is $99 for a single student or $135 for a family with 2 or more siblings if not already paid this gym year
Mountain Brook Gymnastics has been known for over 35 years and has successfully served thousands of girls and boys since its inception. The program currently has an enrollment of around 900 students, ranging in age from two-year-olds to seniors in high school, and includes one of the largest Compulsory Competitive Team programs in the state of Alabama. Spring registration opens Thursday December 11th at noon, classes are first-come, first-serve, spots are not held from session to session, waitlists are available for full classes, and additional classes may be added as staff availability increases. There are two 9-week sessions in the spring (with some 8-week classes), and families are instructed to make sure the card on file is current and to read and familiarize themselves with gym and registration policies before requesting a class.
Mountain Brook Gymnastics states that it provides a well-known and highly respected venue to develop physical coordination, discipline, competitive spirit, sportsmanship, and a valuable work ethic, helping to create winners, outstanding citizens, and leaders for tomorrow's generation. A good amount of participants are honor roll students, and most excel in the Presidential Fitness tests given annually at local schools. The Parents' Club has hosted numerous state, regional, and national gymnastics competitions and has served as an ambassador of the community's hospitality and spirit.
Mountain Brook Gymnastics is recognized as one of the finest gymnastics programs in the nation. In 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2022, and 2023, it was recognized as a “Family Favorite” in Birmingham Parent Magazine, and it was named “Favorite Gymnastics Program” for 2023 by Birmingham Parent Magazine. The site notes that it does not have a physical address and that it is on an unnamed access road right off I-459 at the Liberty Park exit.
