Tuskegee Airmen Aviation & STEM Youth Programs includes STEM training provided by volunteers and professors from Hampton University, flight training by FAA flight instructors, and FAA approved drone training for youth. Participants take part in orientation flights, rocketry, STEM activities, and drone training, and they work with and build a sampling of Civil Air Patrol STEM Kits. The program also includes activities such as touring aviation and aerospace facilities, flying in flight simulators, learning the history of the Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen, and receiving mentoring from retired and current Southwest Airlines employees.

Over the last six years, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. has conducted a variety of youth activities, and over the last ten years it has participated in the Southwest Airlines Continuing the Legacy Aviation Program, which includes a three-day hands-on aviation experience for rising sixth grade through undergraduate college students accompanied by a parent or guardian residing in the Continental U.S. For the last three years, Civil Air Patrol has supported the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. national convention by bringing their STEM Kits, and at each national convention Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. hosts approximately 100 youth in a two-day youth program. Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. invested over $100,000 to fund the youth program between 2014 and 2019 and covered the cost of travel, lodging, and meals for youth participating in certain programs between 2014 and 2017.
The mission of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. is to introduce young people across the nation to STEM with emphasis on aviation, aerospace, and transportation. Local chapters teach career and leadership lessons using STEM and aviation-themed educational programs based on the life lessons and values of the original Tuskegee Airmen. The organization has a partnership with The Red Tail Flight Academy via the local Irene Trowel-Harris Chapter, receives Civil Air Patrol support at the national convention, participates in the Southwest Airlines Continuing the Legacy Aviation Program, and uses iPads donated by United Airlines to facilitate STEM and aviation programs.
Background checks are conducted on all adults in direct contact with the youth, and necessary insurances are carried for youth program activities. Office Manager Aletha Howard is part of the leadership team.
