About
Vision Kids is a series of art classes where children take part in drawing, watercolor, ceramics, photography, and other visual art activities. The program offers classes in a variety of media, and all classes are taught by local professional artists. All classes are free to attend, and supplies are provided.
• Ages: 6–16 years old
• Schedule: Classes are offered on Saturdays during the school year, with morning sessions at 10am and afternoon sessions at 1pm, including in-person options and one virtual class held via Zoom.
• Price: Art classes taught by professional artists for kids ages six to sixteen, offered free of charge; the classes are offered to the Phoenix metropolitan community free of charge to the participants.
VISION KIDS is designed to inspire children’s creativity and empower them to integrate art into their daily lives. The program gives children the opportunity to work with a professional artist and create a piece of art that is representative of their own creativity, and it gives children the opportunity to develop important avenues for self-expression and an understanding of the creative process. Families can register online via Eventbrite, and each participant may register for one class per release, for a total of up to three classes each semester, with an anytime Wait List that allows eligibility to fill spots that become available due to last-minute cancellations. VISION KIDS students come from all areas of the Valley and represent a wide array of diverse backgrounds, and anyone can participate. VISION KIDS is made possible through the support of the Chandler Cultural Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, and the classes are underwritten by individuals, corporations, and grant funding, with proceeds from sales used to fund Vision Kids workshops and free art classes offered to the community.
