Youth Haven offers a variety of engaging activities that allow children to have fun, explore the outdoors, develop new skills, form positive memories, and learn about Jesus. The program includes plenty of nutritious, delicious food, a quiet place to sleep with a comfortable bed and bedding, and personal items such as hygiene products, school supplies, toys, clothing, shoes, and other needed items. Each child also receives a full Bible called the Youth Haven Trailbook, which they keep and use with their at-home activities.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Price: All children participate free of charge. No state or federal funding.
Youth Haven’s mission is to provide life-changing, Christ-centered experiences for disadvantaged children. The program includes caring adults who share the love of Christ and teach biblical principles, as well as a chance for children to connect with other kids facing similar circumstances. Youth Haven also offers engaging monthly mailings filled with Bible-based activities and challenges that children can complete and return for prizes, birthday cards and personalized mail, and access to a kids’ website with safe and fun content to help them learn and grow in Jesus. Youth Haven was established in 1968 and serves over 1,800 children around the United States each month through on-site adventures and Adventure Club mail and online ministry. One child, Emma, shared that she was excited to come back to Youth Haven and enjoyed the activities sent to her, and an agency partner, Courtney, described Youth Haven as a place that helps address cycles of dysfunctional families, abuse, and hurting children in the system.
