About
SKIESUnlimited Instructional Classes offers extracurricular instructional classes that include Archery, a Babysitter Course, Martial Arts, and a Sibling Care Course. The program includes on-going enrollment for most classes, with new students starting at the beginning of a month and most currently enrolled students automatically re-enrolled into the next month unless a parent completes a Termination Notice. All participants must be registered with Child and Youth Services (CYS), and children and youth who are currently registered with CYS may be able to enroll for some SKIESUnlimited classes using WebTrac.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Archery classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays with afternoon time slots; Martial Arts classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays by age group in the late afternoon and early evening; the Babysitter Course and Sibling Care Course are offered on specific dates in July with morning and, for one day of the Babysitter Course, afternoon hours; no Archery or Martial Arts classes are held on Federal Holidays, CYS Training Days, or program closures.
• Price: Archery costs $50 per month; the Babysitter Course costs $45; Martial Arts costs $45 per month plus a one-time $35 uniform fee; the Sibling Care Course is free, with limited spots.
For Archery and Martial Arts, a full CYS registration and a current sports physical are required. Free bus transportation is available from the School-Age Center (SAC) and Middle School and Teen (MST) Center on a first-come basis for Archery and Martial Arts classes, with seating limited and enrollment in those programs required for transportation; parents must pick up children enrolled in Archery and Martial Arts classes at the Murr Center. Payments for classes must be received by the 5th of each month to retain a child’s or youth’s space, and classes are filled on a first-paid basis.
At the end of the Babysitter Course, students receive a certificate of completion and may be added to the Babysitters’ Referral List with parent permission, and youth who want to be added to this list need to attend all three days of the course. The Sibling Care Course is designed for youth ages 11–18 who want to gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to care for children of all ages. SKIESUnlimited stands for “Schools of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills,” with “Unlimited” referring to the unlimited possibilities the program provides for children and youth. The SKIESUnlimited Program needs certified and experienced class instructors.
