After School and Summer Programs offers meals, snacks, and a hot, nutritious dinner at no additional cost, along with homework help, tutoring, and daily academic enrichment activities. The program includes sports, daily physical activity, physical fitness, healthy fun and recreation, and unique experiences in the arts. Participants also take part in education programs that complement and reinforce what youth learn during the school day, as well as character development, leadership training, career pathway and workforce readiness learning, and internship opportunities.

After School and Summer Programs is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley, which has been creating equity and opportunity for youth for 75 years. The program uses proven educational programs and is organized around four stated priority outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character and Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Career Pathways and Workforce Readiness. It is rooted in social-emotional development practices, and members develop skills such as curiosity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking, make healthy nutrition choices, employ resistance and decision-making skills, and refrain from participating in risky behaviors. Members also demonstrate leadership and service to others in the Club and in the community and understand their rights and responsibilities as community members. The organization describes its staff as caring, professional, and well-trained, and notes that it is the largest childcare provider in the Valley, serving more than 20,000 young people in grades K–12 with high-quality, affordable programs that stay open late.
