Meraki Cooking School

Meraki Cooking School offers classes such as Apple Harvest Bake Shop, Woodland Cake Workshop, Apple Orchard Bakery, Once Upon a Pumpkin, Disney Villain Delights, Hocus Pocus, Fall Bistro, Nightmare Before Christmas, Lights, Camera, Cook! After-school, Summer Lunch Club, Regional Favorites: Teen Cooking Series, and French Favorites. Classes are taught in a real-world kitchen, with each class limited to 5 students per 8-week term, meeting one time per week, and having two instructors assigned.

Meraki says its mission is reflected in the meaning of the word Meraki: doing something with soul, creativity, love, and passion. The school states that its classes are specially designed for the neurodivergent student. It also says students leave with improvement in independent cooking ability, and the program encourages trying new foods, healthy eating habits, balanced meals, mealtime etiquette, and social communication with peers. Meka has been an educator for over 15 years and, in the past 3 years, has designed and instructed using specific culinary curriculum for teaching students with Autism adaptive and life skills in the kitchen.
