The H.E.A.R.T. Center offers equine assisted activities, therapeutic riding, equine-assisted learning, adaptive recreation, and recreation therapy. It operates as an equine-based private school with recreation and activity integrated educational programs, including a special education private microschool and a Micro-School & Transition Academy. The program includes equine-assisted learning and recreation infused into traditional academics, along with individual therapeutic programs to supplement learning paths and a focus on physical, social, cognitive, and emotional function and well-being through diverse programs that use meaningful and practical life skills and knowledge.

The H.E.A.R.T. Center was founded in 2014. The mission of The H.E.A.R.T. Center is to use horses and recreation to make school and therapy more relevant and more fun for students with additional needs, and to create alternative and intentional therapeutic learning opportunities for students with developmental disabilities through innovative and evidence-based practices. The H.E.A.R.T. Center is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. The leadership team includes Founder and Executive Director Chelsea Harden, CTRS, along with staff members referred to as Miss Carrie, Miss Kennedy, and Mr Matt. Chelsea Harden is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International (PATH, Int’l) Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and the program lists having a PATH, Int’l Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor on staff.
