Since 2012, Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff has offered these services, starting with 1 Club and 50 members and now serving over 700 youth at 6 sites in Northern Arizona in Coconino County and Navajo County. The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Club focuses on character and leadership, healthy lifestyles, education and career, and the arts, and uses an outcome-driven Formula for Impact that includes Fun with a Purpose, Academic Success, Be Great, Do Good, and Healthy Choices.

The Club provides healthy snacks and a hot dinner included in program fees, and financial aid is available so that cost is not a barrier to participation, with scholarships often given to cover membership cost for children and teens from families in need. The Club emphasizes positive values in relationships between members and adult leaders, and offers award-winning out-of-school-time programs that foster self-confidence and positive relationships with others. The Club operates one main Club location in Flagstaff at the Cogdill site and three Native American dormitories in Holbrook, Winslow, and Flagstaff, in partnership with the City to increase services in a community that needs them.

Leadership and governance include Coral Evans, City Council member; Elizabeth Anderson, the director of community enrichment services at the City of Flagstaff; Amy, Cogdill Branch Director; and a Native Service Director. According to Elizabeth Anderson, “We are very excited to have a Boys and Girls club in Flagstaff. Having previously been involved with the Club I have seen firsthand the positive impact it has on school-age youth in the communities they serve.” Clubs across the country play a key role in reducing delinquency, increasing academic achievement among youth and enhancing their access to technology and skills, and every dollar invested into an area Boys & Girls Club returns $9.60 in current and future earnings and cost-savings to the community.

Children may bring an electronic device such as a tablet or cellphone, but it may only be used during designated technology-specific programming or with proper communication with the Program Director.
