About
Arizona Youth Summer Soccer Camp includes soccer training, goalkeeping training, classroom soccer teaching, tactics, and mental aspects, along with games, tournament games, recreational sports, hikes, waterfall hikes, campfires, social games, meet & greet games, and swimming. The camp offers both Classic/Rec and Elite training options, as well as an Elite Goalkeeping Camp option and a goalkeeping option for all levels. Campers stay in dorm-style accommodations and bring their own toiletries, towels, pillows, and sleeping bags or sheets.
• Ages: 6–15 years old
• Schedule: Week-long camp from June 1–5, with 4-night accommodations; players leave Phoenix on a coach bus at 9am Monday and return at 3pm Friday, with a shuttle from an East Valley location at the same times
• Price: $500.00–$849.00, with registration cost of $849 and an early bird price of $799 using code “EARLY25” before Dec. 31; non-refundable down payment option with balance due May 1; private cabins starting at $1,000 extra; additional camp shirts $25 and hoodies $45; payments are not refundable but a credit for the next year is possible
The Classic Camp example schedule includes leaving Phoenix at 9am on Monday, followed by lunch, training sessions, activities, dinner, and campfire with meet & greet games, with the rest of the week including breakfast, training sessions, hikes, activities, games, a waterfall hike and swim, campfires, and Friday tournament games before the shuttle home at 3pm. The Elite Camp example schedule adds stretch and fitness sessions, more frequent training blocks, classroom soccer sessions focused on tactics and mental aspects, activities and games, a waterfall outing, and tournament games on Friday before the shuttle home at 3pm. The Classic Camp group includes 10+ hours of soccer training plus recreational sports, hikes, and activities, while the Elite Training group includes 16+ hours of intense training and 3.5+ hours of classroom soccer teaching, with smaller groups and a more intense curriculum.
Arizona Youth Summer Soccer Camp is led by Camp Director Tom Hurdle and multiple top club and college coaches in Arizona. Tom Hurdle’s roles and experience include 2024 Arizona Community College Coach of the Year, current US National Team Scout and US Talent Scout Licensed, current Regional ODP Staff Coach, Scottsdale Community College Men’s and Women’s Head Coach, Team USA 6v6 National Team Head Coach, Phoenix Premier FC Director of Coaching, UPSL Head Coach, and GCU Assistant Coach. The coaching staff includes coaches who have played professionally and worked with professional teams, college teams, and Arizona club teams.
The camp includes visits from VIP ex-professional players, Olympians, and World Cup players on Wednesday for meet-and-greets, Q&A, and tips throughout the day, with previous VIPs including Lauren Sesselmann, Robbie Findley, and Cali Farquharson. One camp T-shirt is included with registration, with additional shirts and hoodies available for purchase, and if signing up after May 20, shirts are not available because they must be ordered in advance. Kids can be grouped with friends, with grouping noted at signup and switches possible on the first day, and there is an option for a private cabin for a group of 8 or more for an extra fee.
Arizona Sports League, which runs the camp, started as the Motorola soccer league with seven teams in early 2001 and is described as Arizona’s largest provider of recreational sports leagues and premier social events in the Phoenix metropolitan area, with thousands of annual participants.
