South Mountain Performing Arts

South Mountain Performing Arts offers recreational classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, and more. It also offers Combo Classes in Tap, Ballet, and Acrobatics for ages 2-6, Summer Dance Camps for ages 2 and up, and a Company Program with additional training, performances, competitions, conventions, guest artists, photo shoots, and team experiences.

Programs

• Recreational Classes — 2.5 through adult · Classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Contemporary and more.
• Company Program — Groups beginning as young as age 4 · Designed for dancers ready for a greater commitment; includes additional training, performances throughout the community, competitions, conventions, guest artists, photo shoots, and team experiences.
• Summer Dance Camps — Ages 2 and up · Themed summer camps for all ages; all levels welcome.
• Combo Classes (Tap, Ballet & Acrobatics) — Ages 2-6 · Introduces tap, ballet, and acrobatics for youngest dancers.
• Ballet
• Pointe — Available once a dancer has progressed in training and reached the appropriate age and strength level.

About the provider

South Mountain Performing Arts has been operating since 2007 and is under the artistic direction of founder and owner Michael J. Cook. It is an official chapter of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA) and was a 2017 Cox Small Business Award winner. The mission is to inspire confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of the arts in a nurturing environment.

Positive, safe, encouraging environment; all levels; safety and positivity emphasized; students may receive official NHSDA certificate and honor pin, qualify for graduation honors and national scholarships, and develop leadership skills.
