0S3 Movement Youth Programs

0S3 Movement Youth Programs offers Summer Bike Camp for ages 4–13, the 0S3 Youth Reptilians Cycling Team for middle schoolers to high schoolers, FNR (Friday Night Ride) for families regardless of age and condition, Community Bike Rides for all ages, Adopt a Bike, Fix-2-Own for all ages, and the Children with Obesity Assistance Program for children. Activities include mountain bike training, low-speed group rides, bicycle and arts education, learning basic bike mechanics and safety tips, and indoor or outdoor cycling coaching.

Programs

• Summer Bike Camp — 4-13 years
• 0S3 Youth Reptilians Cycling Team — Middle Schoolers to High Schoolers · A day for youth to train at Monte Carlo Trails in mountain bike discipline; training is conducted by local certified coaches by the NICL.
• FNR (Friday Night Ride) — for families; regardless of age and condition · Friday at 6:30 p.m. · An outreach program that is an interdisciplinary bicycling, arts and education program. Rides five to seven miles at a low speed from Downtown Nogales to Mariposa Avenue and back.
• Community Bike Rides — all ages · almost daily · A complete and almost daily program full of bike rides to promote cycling and wellness among the community.
• Adopt a Bike — A program thinking of low income families that can’t afford a bike or equipment but want to ride or need a way of transportation.
• Fix-2-Own — all ages · Participants learn basic mechanics to maintain their bike, basic safety tips, and operation of a bicycle; upon successful completion, people can keep the bicycle.
• Children with Obesity Assistance Program — children · Helps children facing obesity by volunteering with indoor or outdoor cycling coaching.

About the provider

0S3 Movement was founded by Melissa Gallegos and Edgardo Munoz. It is a 501c3 non-profit organization and a Santa Cruz County active transportation-centered, youth-focused, community-based advocacy organization. Its mission is to help build a stronger, better connected, and more bike/walk friendly community by empowering the young and young at heart through its projects, programs, and initiatives. The program works with community events and collaborations, including Santa Cruz Adolescent Wellness Network, Nogales Community Development, Circles of Peace, SCC U of A Corporate Extension, Nogales Police Department, Mariposa Clinic, The Cancer Society, and Nogales Mercado.
