Arizona Sunrays

Arizona Sunrays offers Baby Gym, Explorers, Tumble Tots, Preschool, Junior Stars, Preschool Elite, Stars 1: Beginner, Stars 2: Intermediate, Superstars: Advanced, Tumbling, Adult Class, and Open Gym. Classes include exploratory play with developmentally appropriate equipment and manipulatives, adult participation in some baby and toddler classes, and activities such as vault, bars, beam, floor, cartwheels, back flips, tumbling, dance combinations, and self-guided exploration in designated areas of the gym.

• Baby Gym — 3 months-12 months · $93 per month · Free*; a free and fun-filled class using developmentally appropriate equipment and manipulatives with an emphasis on exploratory play. Pre-registration is required.
• Explorers — 12 months-24 months · $93 per month · Transitional class that bridges exploratory play and structured movement; adult participation required.
• Tumble Tots — 2-3 years · $145 per month · Creative circuits designed with social and physical development in mind; adult participation required.
• Preschool — 3-4 years · $145 per month · Practice the fundamentals of movement, patterns of skills and progressions, handstands, cartwheels, balancing on the beam and swinging on bars.
• Junior Stars — 4-5 years · $184 per month · Builds on fundamentals of planned movement, locomotor skills, social play, and confidence.
• Preschool Elite — 3-5 years · $184 per month · Invitation-based class with more focused shaping, strength, flexibility and skill progressions; pathway toward iTeam, Xcel and Developmental.
• Stars 1: Beginner — 5+ years · $184 per month · Intro to vault, bars, beam and floor; no previous gymnastics experience necessary.
• Stars 2: Intermediate — 5+ years · $261 per month · Continues foundational skills with intermediate elements; requires completion of Stars 1 and an evaluation to enroll.
• Superstars: Advanced — 5+ years · $314 per month · Advanced skills including connected tumbling, kip drills on bars, dance combinations and cartwheels on beam; requires completion of Stars 2 and an evaluation to enroll.
• Tumbling — 6+ years · $175 per month · Wide range of tumbling abilities and styles, from cartwheels to back flips; individually focused.
• Adult Class — 16+ years · $189 per month · Open to adults of all ages and abilities; this class is currently only offered at the Phoenix location. Drop-in fee: $40 per class.
• Open Gym — 1 years-11 years · $10 per class · Fun, self-guided hour of exploration in designated areas of the gym; parents must accompany children aged 5 and under. Pre-registration is recommended.

About the provider

Arizona Sunrays has served the valley for 35+ years. Its mission states that it inspires children to find the joy of movement and partners with local businesses, schools, and neighborhood groups. The program says coaches receive background checks, CPR and First Aid certification, and USA Gymnastics training, and that it has professional judges on staff, 40+ collegiate scholarship athletes, and trained national champions and olympic gymnasts. It also reports donations to local organizations, over $120,000 in scholarships provided per year, and participation in and hosting of local community events.
