The Academy Theatre

The Academy Theatre offers youth arts education in music, vocals, and theatre. Its programs include Children's Drama Preparatory Academy for boys and girls ages 10 and 11, Girl's Drama Club Academy for girls ages 12 to 16, Junior Drama Club Academy for boys ages 12 to 16, and Summer Drama Program for boys and girls ages 10 to 16.

About the provider

The Academy Theatre has operated since 2007. It aims to instill a passion for the arts while providing education across various disciplines, and it says it equips members with social, ethical, management, leadership, and life skills. It also promotes and supports local musicians through its SATURDAY NITE JAMZ concert series and aims to bridge the gap between the community and artists.

No auditions for roles in any production. Equal opportunity philosophy. Treats all cast members as equals. Emphasizes professionalism, courtesy, respect, and positive reinforcement. Operates as a peer-led membership organization using a modified Robert’s Rules of Order approach; members can run for elected positions and gain experience in public speaking and meeting management.
