After School and Summer Programs offers meals, snacks, and a hot, nutritious dinner at no additional cost, along with homework help, tutoring, and daily academic enrichment activities. The program includes daily physical activity, sports, physical fitness, and healthy fun and recreation, as well as experiences in the arts. Youth take part in educational programs that complement and reinforce what they learn during the school day, along with character development, leadership training, leadership and service to others in the Club and in the community, and career pathway and workforce readiness learning, including internship opportunities.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: After school programming from 3pm–7pm
• Price: At just $40–$80 per month during the school year (including snacks and a hot, nutritious dinner at no additional cost)

The program is offered by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley, which provides affordable after-school and summer programs for more than 20,000 young people in grades K–12 and is the largest childcare provider in the Valley. Programs are organized around four stated Priority Outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character and Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Career Pathways and Workforce Readiness, and are rooted in social-emotional development practices. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley describes itself as an out-of-school-time provider and leading voice for youth development in Arizona and has been creating equity and opportunity for youth for 75 years.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley states that it empowers young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible members of the community. The organization notes that it supports families’ work schedules by staying open until 7 pm and that its programs are led by caring, professional, well-trained staff.
