Extreme Martial Arts has been serving the Safford area since 1998 and provides martial arts classes to families from Safford, Thatcher, Pima, Duncan, and Morenci communities. The leadership team includes Master Jones, Owner and Head Instructor, who holds a 5th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Chong Do Kwan Tae Kwon-Do, and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The team also includes Mr. Daymian, a 2nd Degree Black Belt; Mr. Brandon, a 1st Degree Black Belt; Miss Maria; and Mr. Jesse, a 1st Degree Black Belt. The organization states that it strongly believes martial arts can be for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or experience level, and that students in its programs learn skill sets to protect themselves using a realistic and practical approach.
Parents have shared that instructors and staff are “amazing,” “very patient with young children,” and “go out of their way to make every kids feel welcomed.” One parent reports that their child is “learning to be respectful to others because his Karate class experiences” and uses “black belt excellent sheets” as reminders. Extreme Martial Arts also notes that some Safford members have seen improvements in as little as 7 days and that there is an exclusive online-only offer connected to its programs.
