About

The team includes many national level competitors as well as recreational team members who do not compete, and offers multiple levels of competitive team options for all ability levels, along with team options for those who want to improve skills and climb for fun with recreation teams. Climbing has recently become an Olympic sport. Anyone age 8 to 18 can join the youth climbing team, and any child age 6 to 19 can become a member of the climbing team if they can climb a grade of 5.7. Multiple local competitions are offered throughout the state of Arizona each year. AZ on the Rocks has been serving the Arizona climbing and fitness community since 2004 and is described as the best climbing gym in Arizona. Each year AZR donates approximately $50,000 in services and time to non-profit organizations in the community, with over $1.2MM total donations. Everyone entering the gym must have a completed and up-to-date AZ on the Rocks waiver, including both spectators and climbers, and all individuals under 18 must have their waiver completed and signed by their own parent, with no permission slips accepted. A free day pass is offered so a child can experience a day of climbing when a parent inquires via the form.
