About
Programs at Taliesin West includes activities such as Homeschool Explorations: Furniture Design for Kids and Furniture Design for Kids. It also includes Family Workshop: Build a Solar House and Build a Solar House. During Homeschool Explorations: Furniture Design for Kids, students examine some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s furniture pieces, learn about other unique types of furniture, and make their own paper furniture models to take home. In the Family Workshop: Build a Solar House, participants learn about “eco-engineering” and create their own solar-powered house to take home using a real solar cell and LED.

The goal of the Taliesin Institute, which is connected with Programs at Taliesin West, is to provide education and outreach to architecture and design students and professionals, and to people interested in learning about the history and future of organic architecture principles. Taliesin West is Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and desert laboratory and is a location inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Arizona residents are eligible for a 10% discount on Self-Guided Audio Tour tickets at Taliesin West from January 1 through January 31.
