The program asks participants to be prepared for chilly evenings during its camping trips.

• Price: Post-camp dinner, free for all attending

Established in 1965, Camp Wildcat is composed of over 100 University of Arizona student volunteers. All administration, fundraising, and camp directing are done without any paid staff or faculty assistance, and there is no paid staff, so donations directly benefit Tucson’s youth. Each year, Camp Wildcat members perform over 30,000 hours of community service toward helping youth in Tucson. The organization’s mission states that it provides quality, cost-free camping trips and day activities for underserved and underfunded schools throughout the Tucson community, and that it offers children the chance to challenge personal limits, build interpersonal skills, explore creative outlets, enhance self-esteem, and view higher education and personal success as attainable goals. Camp Wildcat has established a Special Collections at the Archives of the University of Arizona Library. As an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, it looks to businesses for tax-deductible donations and is eligible for the Arizona Tax Credit Program for Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations. Greg Porter is listed as part of the leadership team.
