Camp Civitan offers activities such as basketball, soccer, sand volleyball, miniature golf, hiking, indoor swimming, and use of a pool table. Participants also have access to TV, VCR, DVD, karaoke, and an entertainment room with game tables and a costume closet. Off-site outings include mountain tubing, skiing, hay rides, rodeos, golfing, The Famous Grand Canyon Train, Route 66 Vintage Car and Motorcycle shows, Bearizona, and The Deer Farm.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Week-long camp sessions throughout the summer, and weekend adventures once a month during the rest of the year
Camp Civitan is the Civitan Foundation’s longest running program and was founded in 1968 as the first residential summer camp experience open to individuals of all abilities. It is one of the first year-round camping experiences in Arizona with extracurricular activities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Camp Civitan registration is available through the digital UltraCamp portal. The Civitan Foundation, Inc. is a DES/DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) Qualified Vendor and reports serving over 300 individual members per day. The mission of Civitan Foundation, Inc. is to provide the community an accessible, safe, and affordable environment while delivering life experiences to enhance the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
