Since 2012, Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff has offered these services, with the Flagstaff Club opening in July 2012. The organization states a mission “to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.” The leadership team includes Coral Evans, a City Council member; Elizabeth Anderson, director of community enrichment services at the City of Flagstaff; Amy, Cogdill Branch Director; and a Native Service Director who serves as a contact for dormitory and residential locations. The City of Flagstaff partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs by leasing the Cogdill Recreation Center to the Club for $1 a month and providing start-up funding, and the Club now operates six sites in Northern Arizona, including three Native American dormitories in Holbrook, Winslow, and Flagstaff. The organization reports that it depends on individual gifts, fundraising events, and foundation support, and that every dollar invested into an area Boys & Girls Club returns $9.60 in current and future earnings and cost-savings to the community. One parent testimonial notes excitement about having a Boys & Girls Club in Flagstaff and mentions having seen a positive impact on school-age youth in other communities.
