Washington Kids Foundation has been operating for over 10 years. The program’s mission is to level the playing field so all youth can succeed. Programs use a Life Pillars philosophy made up of Fit For Life, Lead For Life and Learn For Life elements. Fit For Life emphasizes fitness, training, and nutrition to improve motor skills, flexibility, strength, and team participation skills. Lead For Life uses relationship and mentorship to increase self-awareness, confidence, self-esteem, and respect. Learn For Life teaches youth to be life-long learners by developing reading, studying, and homework skills and creating space to explore topics they are passionate about. Programs provide a platform for youth to compete, connect and care for themselves and others.

Washington Kids Centres are described as safe, accessible facilities where children and youth can have fun and develop a sense of belonging when they are away from home and school. The centres give kids an opportunity to establish positive relationships, learn, be active and creative, build confidence, and spend time with friends. Field experiences at local attractions and partner agency locations contribute to comprehensive school break programming.
