Lakewood Little League offers baseball through divisions that include Quickball, Coach-Pitch, Farm (Machine Pitch), Minor B, Minor A, Majors, and a Challenger division. The Challenger division is for youth and young adults with special needs. The program includes baseball opportunities for boys and girls.

It is part of California District 38, which serves as a liaison between Little League Western Regional Headquarters in San Bernardino and the six Little League baseball leagues that make up the district. The league states that all volunteers are dedicated to making each child's experience a positive one.
The program’s mission is to build leadership, baseball skills, teamwork, and discipline. It brings together boys and girls from the city of Lakewood to learn life lessons through organized baseball, encourages good sportsmanship and respect for the community and for each other, and fosters team unity while focusing on keeping youth sports in its proper perspective.
Lakewood Little League is home of the 1960 Southern California and Western Regional Champions, who placed third at the Little League World Series.
