Studio 8 offers classes in Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-hop, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Lyrical, Cheer, and Acro. Students can also participate in an annual dance recital and may audition for the Company 8 Dance Team.

• Schedule: Class options Monday–Saturday during afternoon and morning hours (Mon–Fri 3:30 pm–6:00 pm; Sat 10:00 am–12:00 pm)

Studio 8 was founded in 2004 by Director and Artistic Director Vanessa Medve and has provided dance instruction in the Bay Area for over 20 years. The studio offers dance classes for toddlers through adults, including Pre Sparkler classes for ages 18 months to 7 years that use a creative dance approach and fun props in the curriculum. Enrichment dance classes place emphasis on enjoying the art of dance, and Jump Start Dance Classes focus on cultivating strength, flexibility, and dance skills for dedicated dancers. Company 8 Dance Team is available for dancers eager to improve technique and performance skills, and Company 8 has performed at venues such as an NBA Warriors Game and in a parade down Main Street USA at Disneyland.

Studio 8’s mission states that it teaches technical skills while also building confidence, with students learning artistry, technique, and self-expression. The mission also states that Studio 8 strives to provide a healthy and positive experience in a fun, non-competitive environment, and that it encourages and nurtures students while providing a comfortable environment for learning. The studio states that it considers the importance of being a good role model for children when selecting music, costuming, and choreography, and that these elements are age appropriate. According to the program, its professionally trained and dedicated teaching staff focuses on proper technique, body placement, and poise while encouraging self-confidence and camaraderie in a fun, non-competitive environment.
