Studio 8 Dance & Performing Arts Center offers Pre Sparkler Dance, Enrichment, and Jump Start classes, along with Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Hip-hop, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Lyrical, Cheer, and Acro. Pre Sparkler Dance uses creative dance and fun props. Enrichment and Jump Start are offered for ages 7-up.

Programs

• Pre Sparkler Dance — 18 months–7 years · Creative dance approach; fun props are incorporated; develops coordination, self-esteem, locomotor skills, self-confidence, musicality, focus, and love of dance.
• Enrichment — Ages 7-up · Emphasis on enjoying the art of dance; helps dancers unleash creativity, express artistic side, learn fundamental dance moves, and improve coordination, flexibility, strength, and confidence.
• Jump Start — Ages 7-up · Dynamic dance classes focused on cultivating strength, flexibility, and exceptional dance skills for ambitious and dedicated dancers.

About the provider

Studio 8 was founded in 2004 by Director Vanessa Medve, who is the Artistic Director. The studio says it has served aspiring dancers of all ages for over 20 years in the Bay Area. Its mission statement says it teaches technical skills while also building confidence, and that students learn artistry, technique, and self-expression in a warm, positive, comfortable, fun, non-competitive environment. Each spring, the studio hosts an annual dance recital, and Company 8 Dance Team performs at the NBA Warriors Game and in a parade down Main Street USA Disneyland.

Age-appropriate music, costuming, and choreography are used. Tuition is not refundable. A drop/change form must be submitted in writing by the 15th of the month to drop or change future classes. There is a $25 re-registration fee if a student drops a class and rejoins within the school year session.
