Culinary Kids

Culinary Kids offers cooking classes where children prepare theme-based snacks and meals. The program also runs summer camps, after-school enrichment programs, and birthday parties that center on hands-on cooking activities.

Culinary Kids states its mission as empowering and enriching children's lives through cooking. The program describes itself as a place where young chefs come to play and learn while creating theme-based snacks and meals to share with family and friends. Founder Bonnie Bachelor is a credentialed teacher with 12 years of educational experience in kindergarten through fifth grade and has been providing her summer camps since 2008, after first experimenting with a kids’ cooking class in 2005. The leadership team includes founder Bonnie Bachelor and team member Brie Taylor, who joined Culinary Kids in 2017. Culinary Kids reports having twenty employees and three recipe curriculum designers, operating in eight Orange County cities, and enrolling over seven hundred young chefs during the summers. Its summer camps have expanded into after-school enrichment programs in twenty local schools, and the organization is in partnership with Curious Chef. Culinary Kids states a goal of extending its summer camp and after-school enrichment programs throughout the West Coast and into other states, and is working toward offering programs as part of enrichment during the instructional day at elementary schools. The program also states that participation in its cooking classes and special events includes permission for Culinary Kids to use participant likenesses in photographs, video, or other digital media in its publications and social media without payment or other consideration.
