The German-American School Association of Southern California, Inc. (GASA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation founded in 1954 and operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3). Its mission states that multilingualism is the norm in most of the world and that children who speak and write more than one language will be better prepared for life in the 21st century, and that the best way to master another language is to start learning at an early age. GASA lists community involvement with the Austrian American Club, Austrian American Council West, The Phoenix Club, The Tyrolean & Bavarian Zither Club, and Los Angeles Schwaben Verein. GASA has Student Health and Safety Guidelines, a GASA Covid Prevention Program, and admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
