About
California Dance Company offers dance, gymnastics, tumbling, and aerial silks classes. All aerial silks classes take place in Studio 1 at the Anderson location. The program includes options for all levels and styles of dance, as well as gymnastics and tumbling for a wide range of skill levels.

Founded in 1996, California Dance Company has grown from a one-room studio with a handful of students to hundreds of students at two locations. The CEO, Sonya Kennedy, was born in Montreal, Canada, started her dance training in Toronto, and has competed in gymnastics, figure skating, and dance throughout Canada and the United States. Sonya was named California’s 1999 Entertainer of the Year in Fresno, and some of her students have gone on to dance for sports teams such as the Sacramento Kings, LA Lakers, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco 49ers, with five dancers signed to top talent agencies in Hollywood. She has taken dancers to the World Dance Championships in Germany four times to represent the U.S.A., including a Gold medal in the Junior Solo division in 2011. California Dance Company received the Distinguished Studio Award at the 2015 Spotlight Competition in Sacramento, and Sonya received Choreographer of the Year from Energy National Dance Competition in 2017. The program offers trial classes, worry-free enrollment, and the ability to book parties, and it has announced that Summer 2026 enrollment is now open.
