Max Academy Edge offers martial arts and self-defense training that includes Martial Arts, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Fitness Kickboxing, Max Fit, Self Defense, and Teens Blended Martial Arts. The program includes separate classes for younger children called Pandas and for older children called Juniors, along with fitness-focused and self-defense-focused options for teens and adults.

Max Academy Edge is described as a modern martial arts and self-defense academy built for adults, teens, and kids, and is the second location of Max Academy after the CORE facility in Brentwood. The leadership team includes Sensei Daniel Froisland as Head Instructor of the Max Academy Edge location, Sensei Gabriel Froisland as EDGE Program Director and Senior Instructor at the Max Academy, Renshi Matt Rosalez as founder and owner of Max Academy and Managing Director and Instructor, and Sandy Rosalez as owner of Max Academy who manages Human Resources, creates in-house marketing content, and partners in expansion planning and execution.
Fitness Kickboxing, Max Fit, Self Defense, and Krav Maga classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM. Teens Blended Martial Arts classes are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00 PM and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 PM. Pandas classes for ages 4–6 meet Monday through Thursday at 4:00 PM, and Juniors classes for ages 7–12 meet Monday through Thursday at 4:45 PM.
Sensei Daniel, the Head Instructor at Max Academy Edge, began training in 2006, earned his 1st Degree Black Belt in 2015, and is currently a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Level 5 certified instructor through the Krav Maga Alliance. He has been actively training in self protection since 2016, holds certifications as an Active Shooter Prevention Instructor and Civilian Law Enforcement Instructor, trains on the instructor competition team for competitive Jiu Jitsu, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, East Bay. Sensei Gabe, a Senior Instructor and EDGE Program Director, began training in 2006, earned his 1st Degree Black Belt in 2015, and is also a 2nd Degree Black Belt and Level 5 certified instructor through the Krav Maga Alliance, with 12 years of teaching experience. He co-founded the Inspire Leadership program, serves as the Inspire/Spark Leadership Training Facilitator and Inspire/Spark Student Mentor Coordinator, has trained at Beacon MMA and Combat Sports Academy under Kirian Fitzgibbons, competes in Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing with the Instructor Competition Team, and works as a public speaker and acting coach, and was a contestant on Netflix’s “Floor is Lava.” Renshi Matt holds a 4th Degree Satori Ryu Black Belt, Black Belts in American Taekwondo and Uechi Ryu, is a Satori Alliance Certified Instructor, a Brown Belt in Krav Maga, a Level 5 Certified Instructor with the Krav Maga Alliance, an iKali Certified Instructor, and a SPEAR Personal Defense Readiness Trainer and SPEAR Evidence-Based Scenario Trainer through Blauer Tactical Systems, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the San Francisco State School of Business. Sandy holds a degree from the School of Letters and Science at the University of California, Berkeley, and is pursuing Program Director Certification.
Max Academy’s instructors train regularly under internationally recognized experts such as John Whitman of Krav Maga Alliance, Tony Blauer of the SPEAR system, Shane Fazen of FIGHTTIPS and MAGVUS Summit, Tuhon Apolo Ladra, Dave Kovar, and Grand Master Chip Townsend, and the team has trained at Combat Sports Academy under Kirian Fitzgibbons. The organization is affiliated with the Ascend Mastermind and is active in the ImpaktMastermind group led by Adam Kifer, and its CORE location has hosted seminars with visiting masters including Tuhon Ladra and Grand Master Townsend. Renshi Matt is recognized as one of the first four Satori Alliance Certified Instructors, is a longstanding member of the Professional Martial Arts College, and was a speaker at ProMAC International 2019.
