Reach For The Barres is described as a Premier Recreational Dance Studio with a small town feel and was founded in 2015. The studio’s mission states that it believes dance is a joyful part of childhood and that its mission is to nurture confidence, creativity, and connection in every child by offering premier dance education in a welcoming, specialized environment. The mission further states that classes are rooted in expert, age-appropriate training and joyful, imaginative learning, and that the program offers an alternative to traditional dance studios with an innovative and conceptual approach to dance education. The program is based upon multiple-class lessons, runs its main season like a 9-month academic calendar with 34 weeks in the season, guarantees students enrolled in September a spot in class for the entire 34 weeks, offers over 100 dance classes, and has over 600 dancers enrolled. The program also includes a Summer Camp Mentorship Program with Camp Counselor roles for ages 14+ and Counselor in Training (CIT) roles for ages 11–13, and requires the CIT Summer Camp Workshop for incoming CITs.
