Avila Hot Springs Swimming Lessons offers group and private swimming lessons that use a heated freshwater swimming pool with double slides. The program also includes use of a mineral hot springs soaking pool, following specific health department rules for children’s access to the hot pool.
• Ages: 3–15 years old
• Schedule: Group lessons meet in 8 classes of 45 minutes each, Monday–Thursday, and private lessons meet in 4 classes of 30 minutes each by appointment.
• Price: Group swimming lessons are $280 per child for 8 classes, and private swimming lessons are $310 per child for 4 classes, with a $20 discount for additional children and a non-refundable $12 reservation fee for any swim lesson spot.
Group swimming lessons are offered in Summer 2026 in three sessions: Session 1 from June 15–June 25, Session 2 from July 6–July 16, and Session 3 from July 20–July 30, with class times at 10 am, 11 am, 4 pm, and 5 pm. Swimming lesson levels 1–6 include Intro to Water Safety, Fundamentals Aquatic Skills, Stroke Development, Stroke Improvement, Stroke Refinement, and Lifeguard Readiness, and all classes are taught by Red Cross Certified Lifeguards following American Red Cross swim lesson guidelines. Children must be 8 years or older to be allowed in the hot mineral soaking pool per Health Department rules.
Avila Hot Springs features a large outdoor fresh water heated swimming pool with a sunny deck and double slide, which is carefully chlorine treated and tested several times each day, heated naturally via heat exchanged from an artesian hot spring, covered at night in the winter, and equipped with an ADA compliant pool lift. It also has a 20' x 20' therapeutic hot mineral soaking pool that is approximately 2 feet deep and 104 degrees, drawing water from a natural artesian well. Avila Hot Springs was discovered in 1907 by oil drillers and established by the Budan family as a visitor-serving natural artesian mineral hot springs oasis, and it is open to the public seven days a week with private and group swimming lessons offered throughout the year and regularly scheduled during spring and summer.
