About

Mt. Diablo Soccer (AYSO Region 223) offers youth soccer programs that include Fall Soccer, Spring Soccer, the MDSA World Cup, Alliance, Club Soccer, and referee training. The program includes primary recreational Fall and Spring soccer options, with recreational games that increase the play requirement to 75% where roster numbers allow. Players in 10U and older divisions progress to the MDSA World Cup to be introduced to competitive play.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Fall Soccer runs August–November; Spring Soccer games run March–May, with the Spring Soccer Program described as a shorter, less formal season

Mt. Diablo Soccer is an all-volunteer youth soccer league and is part of the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). It serves the communities of Clayton, Concord, Walnut Creek and surrounding areas and has served the local soccer community for more than 40 years. The league follows the AYSO philosophy that every player on every team must play at least 50 percent of every game, and its recreational games increase that requirement to 75% where roster numbers allow. All MDSA coaches are qualified volunteers, and there is full and free training for all new referees. Teams are formed each year to be as evenly balanced as possible, and registration is open to all youth who want to play soccer. The programs follow AYSO’s Player Pathway objective and are described as focusing on player development of soccer skills and knowledge, instilling good sportsmanship, and requiring coaches to create a positive experience for every player.
