About

School Break Dog Training Camps gives kids hands-on time with shelter dogs, including bathing the shelter dogs and cleaning the shelter dogs. Participants teach shelter dogs obedience on leash and spend time having fun with the shelter dogs at a nearby park. The camps run as 3 day programs with kids who signed up, and they attend every holiday event with dogs in tow.

• Schedule: 3 day programs

Good Dog for Life LLC, which runs School Break Dog Training Camps, was founded in 2005. In 2009, they started their first after-school program in East Palo Alto, and in 2014 they expanded training from after school to weekly lessons at a local rehab. Sabrina taught several seasons of camp at Pets In Need from 2014–2019. The program’s mission is to keep dogs in forever homes by addressing behavior challenges with structure, clarity, and real-world training solutions, and they brought shelter dogs into programs to work on obedience and social skills.

Sabrina, the founder of Good Dog for Life LLC, studied at the Animal Behavior College while serving as a Humane Officer in San Mateo County. The leadership team includes Sabrina and Vaughn, who is a former Humane Officer and has a successful pet business of her own. Good Dog for Life LLC received Mid-Peninsula’s Local Hero Award in 2014 and is insured under Certificate Number: CCP 997954-00559-05.

They teamed up with board members that supported both The Rich May Foundation and the St Francis of Assisi Youth Club to start their first after-school program in East Palo Alto in 2009. They attended every holiday event with dogs in tow, brought in shelter dogs from Pets in Need in Redwood City to a local rehab to work on obedience and social skills, and Sabrina has volunteered with 4H in Mendocino and San Mateo. The program also offers mobile dog training with lessons at the client’s home or relevant locations such as beach, downtown, park, or trail. Every school break is an opportunity to get in on a fun camp.
