About

Olympian Taekwondo Center offers Traditional Taekwondo training, Olympic-style Taekwondo, and Taekwondo classes for ages 5 and up. Students practice forms, Taekwondo techniques and forms, self-defense, sparring classes, Olympic-style sparring, strength and conditioning, physical conditioning, and competition training, including professional tournament training for local, state, national, and international competitions.

Grand Master Carlos Hernandez has over 36 years of experience in teaching and promoting Taekwondo and is certified by the World Taekwondo Federation as a 7th Dan black belt and instructor. The leadership team includes Grand Master Carlos Hernandez, Master Carlos Hernandez Jr. (Olympian Taekwondo Center Competition Team Coach, Fitness & Strength Conditioning Trainer, 360° Martial Arts Academy Chief Instructor, Olympian Taekwondo Center Team Head Coach), and Instructor Susy H. Grand Master Hernandez opened his first Taekwondo studio in 1992, relocated the studio to Bellflower, California in 1998, and established Olympian Taekwondo Center at its current form in 2002. The center offers a structured curriculum that covers progression from beginner to black belt, training with certified instructors and high-level athletes, and focuses on both Traditional and Olympic-style Taekwondo. Olympian Taekwondo Center describes itself as a martial arts center for kids 5 years old and up, welcomes students of all ages and experience levels, offers a free tryout class, and uses the phrase “A Place for Warriors – Un Lugar para el Guerrero.” The stated mission is to empower individuals through the discipline and philosophy of Taekwondo, provide structured martial arts education, and combine Traditional and Olympic-style Taekwondo in a comprehensive curriculum while emphasizing respect, perseverance, integrity, self-discipline, confidence, mental fortitude, and a positive, inclusive, and supportive community.
