The We Care After School Program includes homework assistance, club meetings and other enrichment activities, and time for free play. The program follows a set afternoon routine that includes student arrival, homework time, enrichment, and free play.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00–6:00 PM
The We Care After School Program has been in operation for over 10 years and serves more than 130 students with a staff of 10 people. The program is led by Supervisor Gabriel, with tutors Taylor G., Alanis, Nathaniel, JJ, Natalie, Kayla, Melanie, and Joaquin. It serves children ranging from Transitional Kindergarten to 5th grade in the Downey school district. The program’s mission is connected to St. Dominic Savio Parish and emphasizes forming a community of faith, proclaiming the Good News, collaborative ministry, and the development of Christian values in youth.
