About

Dancing Paintbrush Studio Summer Art Camp offers weekly art sessions focused on drawing, painting with color, animals and imaginary creatures, people and faces, and landscapes, still life, and oceans. Campers work with a variety of methods and ways of making art, including lessons on color theory and famous artists in art history. The program brings a variety of new materials and techniques and encourages individual exploration of personal themes and interests.

• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: Summer sessions run in weekly blocks, including a special one-day drop-in on June 5, with themed weeks from June 8 through August 14; Week 4 is a four-day week, and beforecare from 8–9 am and aftercare from 3–5 pm are available, with no aftercare on Fridays when camp ends at 3 pm.
• Price: Early Bird tuition before April 1 is $695 for artists ages 7–13 and $675 for counselors-in-training ages 14–17, siblings, and referrals; regular tuition after April 1 is $750 for artists ages 7–13 and $725 for counselors-in-training ages 14–17, siblings, and referrals; beforecare and aftercare are $25 per hour.

Each summer camp session is limited to 12–15 students so that each student receives individual attention and one-on-one work with the instructor to explore unique interests. The program includes special guests to spark the creative process and values working together and sharing ideas. The camp emphasizes practice over product, without judgment, comparison, or criticism, and all art materials used are safe and non-toxic. The Aftercare program is facilitated by the staff of Afterschool University, led by Director Michael Sanchez.
