Swimming includes lap swimming, swim lessons, warm water fitness, and water aerobics. The program takes place at YMCA of the East Bay fitness centers and pools across the East Bay.
For more than 100 years, the YMCA of the East Bay has been bringing families, neighbors, and friends together in a safe and fun environment to learn, play, and grow. The mission of the YMCA of the East Bay is to Empower Youth, Advance Health, and Strengthen Communities. The organization partners with school districts across the East Bay to provide dynamic and engaging programming. Michael Saenz is part of the leadership team for these programs.
Fitness programs at the YMCA of the East Bay are designed for all ages and skill levels, and the organization offers a wide range of youth and teen programs, including Before & After school programs, teen Youth & Government, and overnight summer camp. Early Learning Centers provide child care and education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, serving eligible families with children from birth to 5 years old. The YMCA of the East Bay reports that 68,000 people are served through Early Care & Education, Youth Development programs, and Health & Fitness membership and programs. It also reports $564,337 in financial assistance for YMCA programs, including gym memberships, Youth & Government programs, swim lessons, youth sports, and camperships, and $97,126 in campership dollars providing financial assistance so more children can experience overnight summer camp. Pickleball options are available at all five fitness centers, including clinics, open play, and tournaments.
