UC Berkeley Youth Recreation Summer Camps offers activities that include developmental sports, outdoor learning, exploratory science, arts and crafts, and science. Campers can take part in skateboarding, martial arts, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, shoreline exploration, hands-on outdoor activities, rock climbing, and belay skills. Additional activities include knot-tying, top-rope climbing, equipment care, paddleboarding, sit-on-top kayaking, sailing, rigging, tacking, gybing, capsizing, docking, knots, windsurfing, balance, steering, self-rescues, sea kayaking, paddling techniques, safety procedures, rescue skills, leadership training, job-related skills, volunteer opportunities, and hands-on experience with children and camp activities. Multi-Activity Day Camps allow campers to sample an array of activities appropriate for their age and interests, with time for fun, silliness and time with friends.

UC Berkeley Youth Recreation Summer Camps has been making summers fun for campers and easy for families for more than 60 years. Adventures Youth Camps focus on new adventures, getting outside, moving, and exploring the Bay Area’s natural wonders. Marina Explorers is a half-day, beginner-friendly outdoor camp. Skateboarding Camp is a nationally recognized program. Adventures Teen Leadership Program offers leadership training in outdoor adventure settings, including the Rock Climbing Leadership program, which is included in the Adventures Teen Leadership Program. Counselors-in-Training (age 15) have volunteer opportunities to build foundational leadership skills through hands-on experience with children and camp activities. Junior Counselors (ages 16–17) are paid junior staff who develop leadership and professional skills through mentorship and hands-on responsibilities.
Through Teen Leadership Programs, middle school and high school students (ages 13–17) gain experiential opportunities to develop leadership skills that can be applied to all aspects of life. Junior Counselors (ages 16–17) are paid junior staff. The program has a 4 Stars on Yelp! rating, and “4 Stars on Yelp!” is mentioned on the Youth Recreation page.
