Silverspot Nursery School

Silverspot Nursery School offers a play-based curriculum with books, music, art, cooking, gardening, and exploration of the natural world. It has programs for children ages 2 years to 5 years 11 months, including a Morning Program, a Morning Program (Part Time), a Full Time Program, an Extended Care Program, AM ext. care, Extended Care drop-in, and a PreK Pull Out Program.

• Morning Program (Part Time) — Children between the ages of 2 years and 5 years 11 months old · Tuesday through Thursday, 9am-1pm · $750 per month
• Full Time Program — Children between the ages of 2 years and 5 years 11 months old · Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm · $1,500 per month
• Extended Care Program — Children between the ages of 2 years and 5 years 11 months old · Monday through Friday, 1pm-5pm · $850 per month · PM Extended Care: Drop in $60
• PreK Pull Out Program — Children who will be graduating Silverspot and going into Kindergarten the following fall · 1 hour sessions twice a week during the normal school day · Starts in January

About the provider

Silverspot is a parent-run, non-profit cooperative nursery school. Its mission is to create a community of encouragement and learning for families. The school was started as a grassroots effort in 2001, and in August 2002 the Brisbane City Council granted the lease to 4 Solano Street and the school was born. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, Facility #414001706, and is a member of the CCPPNS California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools. Parents participate in the daily program on a rotating basis and share in the planning and operation of the school.

Enrollment accepts children between the ages of 2 years and 5 years 11 months old. Children do not have to be potty trained. Enrollment typically begins in March for the following school year. A tour is required before applying. Admissions priority is given to returning members (including incoming siblings), followed by alumni and those who work and/or live in Brisbane. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, special needs, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
