Grupology’s mission is to empower and support young learners and to excite and support the next generation of makers, thinkers and doers. Summer camps are intentionally designed to grow with the child, with content and curriculum differentiated based on age and experience, and campers are generally grouped by age in lower and upper elementary groups. Checkmate Chess, Creative Writing and Lemonade Stand camps are open to rising 1st–8th graders, while Artists’ Studio, Design & Build, Math Meets and Spy School camps are open to rising 1st–5th graders, and middle school students may also register for summer tutoring. In Checkmate Chess, campers are grouped by skill level rather than grade, and Yes to Chess offers options from beginner classes to rated tournaments. Summer tutoring is small group tutoring in math, reading and writing with an average student-to-tutor ratio of 2:1, and spots are limited each day. In Lemonade Stand camp, campers can showcase their business at Grupology’s Farmers’ Market. Grupology offers interactive and relevant learning experiences for students in grades 1–8 and emphasizes interesting and relevant content, connection and community, and collaboration in groups, based on a belief in the power of learning in a group. Campers are asked to bring a reusable water bottle labeled with their name and nut-free snacks or lunch, and elementary campers staying all day or using extended care until 1:00pm should pack a nut-free lunch. Grupology has been featured in Punch Magazine’s March 2022 issue, and a new location is planned to open in San Mateo in August 2026.
