About
Redwood Adventure Camp includes activities such as archery, swimming, backpacking, camping, group games, hiking, horseback riding, crafts, daily morning prayers, singing grace before each meal, and an all-camp campfire. Campers sleep on the ground under the stars with their group on overnights and experience living away from indoor plumbing and electricity during those trips. On overnight backpacking trips, campers cook their own meals on camping stoves, have access to filtered water, and follow standard Leave-No-Trace wilderness ethics.
• Ages: 10–18 years old
The summer program consists of a variety of residential experiences for young people beginning the summer before 5th grade and continuing through senior year in high school, and there are also backpacking and camping opportunities for adults and families. Girls’ and boys’ programs are offered during the same week, with groups, overnights, and most activities separate, while Graduate, Adult, and Family Camp programs are co-ed. Five to ten campers and two counselors form an independent family unit for the duration of the program, and each evening these family groups spend time reflecting on the day’s challenges, affirming one another, and closing the day in reflection and prayer.
Programs include age-appropriate outdoor education and adventure activities, community life, spiritual enrichment, and faith formation, and are designed to integrate Christian values into everyday activities. Campers are involved in the planning, preparation, and leadership of the daily morning prayers. Well-balanced meals are provided at regular intervals, including fresh fruit, an afternoon and evening snack, and daily snow cones. Camp facilities are rustic and include flushing toilets, plenty of hot water for showers, and a restaurant-sized kitchen with an excellent kitchen staff. The mission of Redwood Adventure Camp is providing opportunities for leadership development, spiritual and personal growth, environmental stewardship, lifelong personal connections, fun, and adventure. Year-round contact information includes a phone number at 707.984.6877 and an email address at [email protected].
