About
Redwood Adventure Camp includes activities such as archery, swimming, backpacking, camping, group games, crafts, hiking, and horseback riding. Campers take part in daily morning prayers, sing grace before each meal, and gather for an all-camp campfire at the beginning and end of the week. On overnight backpacking trips, campers cook their own meals on camping stoves and use filtered water, and groups follow standard Leave-No-Trace wilderness ethics.
• Ages: 10–18 years old
The summer program consists of a variety of residential experiences for young people beginning the summer before 5th grade and continuing through senior year in high school. Graduate, Adult and Family Camp programs are co-ed, and there are also backpacking and camping opportunities for adults and families. Girls’ and boys’ programs are offered during the same week, with groups, overnights, and most activities separate. Five to ten campers and two counselors form an independent family unit for the duration of the program, and programs include age-appropriate outdoor education and adventure activities, community life, spiritual enrichment, and faith formation.
Camp facilities are rustic and include flushing toilets, plenty of hot water for showers, and a restaurant-sized kitchen with an excellent kitchen staff. Campers sleep on the ground under the stars with their group. Well-balanced meals are provided at regular intervals, including fresh fruit, an afternoon and evening snack, and daily snow cones.
Programs are designed to integrate Christian values into everyday activities. Campers are involved in the planning, preparation, and leadership of the daily morning prayers. Each evening in their family groups they spend time reflecting on the day’s challenges, affirming one another, and closing the day in reflection and prayer. The mission of Redwood Adventure Camp is providing opportunities for leadership development, spiritual and personal growth, environmental stewardship, lifelong personal connections, fun, and adventure.
